At first, I was nervous about posting my profile on the internet. I was worried about who would try to contact me. Would my old boss that treated me like a slave want to find me? Was this message from Jasmine? Somebody had been looking hard for me over the years and was very excited to have found me. I continued to read the message which talked about college.
It could not be from Jasmine or Mark. They were high school friends. Who did I know in college? I stopped reading and scrolled to the signature. It was signed by a Karin.
I did not remember a Karin. Was this a mistake? I read the letter again, this time completely. Parts of it referred to a Philosophy class and then I remembered. It was Karen from my college Philosophy class. I did not know her name was spelled with an i. Of course I remembered her. She was my best friend in college. We helped each other study a lot. We had even gone to the beach once.
Now, this was a very exciting email. I had no idea that there were nice people from my past that I had completely forgotten about! Thinking back, I remembered that she had always been a thoughtful person. This was one surprise that I had not counted on! As I was grinning from ear to ear, I finally noticed that the email had been accompanied with attachments. Karin had sent two pictures of herself. One was dated from the time I knew her and the other was a picture with a recent date. I opened that one first.
This was a few days and a few dozen emails ago. Tomorrow night is Friday and I have a date with Karen. All I can say is, thank goodness that I was finally ready to start finding old friends!
